It’s about Learning Martial Arts, not Belt Rank

Learning Martial Arts

It's about Learning Martial Arts, not Belt Rank. How long have you been a martial arts student? Do you look in a mirror at your belt and pat yourself on the back with pride? Or do you seek knowledge. To try to perfect what you are doing?

If you look at the history of martial arts, and the masters of old you will learn something. It was about study, training, learning. Tell me what rank was Morihei Ueshiba?

He was 100% one of the greatest if not the greatest of the 20th century. Yet rank is not spoken about. Everyone knew his was great without the rank.

In truth the belt rank system was designed for Judo competition, not self gratification.  While I really like the belt rank system, things always seem to go off the rails these days.

People seeking rank for pure self gratification, no connection to learning Martial Arts.

Learning Martial Arts

Back a few years ago after I resurrected the World Budo Alliance I had someone contact me about promotion in Karate. Well that is NOT what the WBA is about. However when he told me I need to do this, and for FREE too, to be humanitarian I knew what kind of person I was dealing with.

No further communications will happen with and myself. Go in peace. I have no interest in this.

Now I have been TEACHING martial arts for about 38 years. I began teaching as a Green Belt in my system. And I have run a Dojo. But NOT ONCE has any student coming in the door, and there have been thousands, ever ask me my RANK much less if I was a Black Belt. And in the last years I did not wear a black belt.

Learning Martial Arts

Learning Martial Arts should be the priority, not a piece of paper. There is just too much focus on that. Back a few years ago in a phone conversation I had with Hanshi Bruce Juchnik his first question to me was if I was after rank.

And while I do have rank in Kosho Ryu, I am not interested in more. It has to me become meaningless. It is all about the learning and the passing on of the Mitose teachings. Here is a history of Kosho Ryu you might enjoy.

When I told Hanshi I was ONLY interested in learning he became very interested in talking to me. I have been studying ALL his teaching now for a long time. And the benefits have been great!

Learning Martial Arts

Today the focus of the martial arts is not in learning Martial Arts but for the purposes of sport. Sport is a game, and does have a place, but it is not nor should it ever be the focus on the arts.

Once again, that is ONLY about ego, and the martial artists should become ego less, not egotistical.

I am concerned at what I do see in the martial arts today. It has become a commodity, and that is just BAD. And after the LIES of 2020 with so many Dojo's forced to close their doors permanently I have concerns about the future of the teachings.

Plus the BITE is gone now from the arts due to the teaching of children and sport. I am still teaching the real thing, but there are not many these days. And the benefits of learning Martial Arts are so great this will be a big loss for the world.

Learning Martial Arts in Conclusion

Learning Martial Arts in Conclusion

It should never be about rank but about learning.  In 2020 I resurrected the WBA but my schedule has just not allowed me to do justice to the project to make it what it once was.

And it will be a while before I can focus on its growth.

So why this article? Because I hope in reading this you will put learning before rank.

Life is about learning and growing. When we stop doing this life is finished. Educate yourself in all things you can. Do not indoctrinate yourself in anything.

Seriously Zombies!! Chance favors the prepared mind, but this?

Seriously Zombies

Seriously Zombies!! Chance favors the prepared mind, but this?

TV shows and movies have shown us zombies for the past 50 plus years. And to be honest I really do enjoy the movies and shows. However we are seeing this today on the streets of the USA and Canada, maybe more.

I have NOT seen this in Romania, but there is not the drug issue here like the west.

Seriously Zombies

And they are similar to the ones seen from the Voodoo practice seen in a move from the 80's called Serpent and the Rainbow. The other day I got some images sent to me from someone in Canada of 2 zombie like people he encountered on one mans walk.

One was am man standing in a park, grey in colour, not moving, head down. He stood like this for an extended period of time, about 15 minutes before the observer moved on.

He then encounter a similar situation with an old woman in a house coat walking down a sidewalk. She growled at him.

I had my son investigate this and it turns out it is epidemic in the USA. A new drug combination of Fentanyl and horse tranquiler. Plus it is being laced into other drugs. And we know how deadly Fentanyl is. Seriously Zombies, it is turning them into zombies. They may not eat flesh, but how big a problem could they become?

Seriously Zombies

Seriously Zombies?? I never thought I would write about something like this!

Now I did see while doing some research myself an article in one US publication trying to deny this calling a "conspiracy theory." SERIOUSLY PEOPLE LEARN TO SPEAK ENGLISH! You cannot make up meanings for words!

Conspiracy is a plot between 2 or more people to commit an illegal activity. And that is its ONLY meaning! Stop showing your ignorance and learn ENGLISH! I will not link the article because when a "journalist" cannot speak the language they report in their company should be bankrupted because no one uses their services. Hey CNN, yeah I am talking about you too!

Seriously Zombies

This may not end up being a violence related issue. These lost souls may just expire from an overdose. But it is smart to not be aware, be prepared for any eventuality?

I have dedicated my life to the self defense aspects of martial art training because I once encountered a man I could not handle. The article was called Escaping a Paranoid Schizophrenic. It is a good read.

And notice the name of the article. I speak of escaping. Not being a though guy and doing battle. The same applies if this situation I am talking about here goes even worse than it is. Escape is always the first response.

Seriously Zombies! What a topic for insane days!

Seriously Zombies in Conclusion

Seriously Zombies in Conclusion

But my question, assuming they do not just die, what happens when they come down?? Will they be sane? Will they be violent?

Addiction leads to violence and Fentanyl is highly addictive. And history once again shows junkies are violent!

Seriously Zombies! I have some suggestions to help you prepared for any potential problems here.

Indomitable Spirit. Never say Never!

Indomitable Spirit. Never Say Never!

Indomitable Spirit. Never Say Never! Niciodată să nu spui niciodată. I listen to people talk in the world today and they are defeated. And many are martial artists!

Really?? Give up? What the hell else is there to do but fight?

There are three types of people in the world. There are COWARDS, who COMPLY to EVERYTHING, martyrs and WARRIORS! I am a warrior and was born middle fingers first!

I comply to NOTHING and I confront everything!

Indomitable Spirit. Never Say Never!

Martial Art History and the masters of old were not cowards. They possessed something called Indomitable Spirit. They never gave up, understood niciodată să nu spui niciodată, never say never!

Adversity is part of life. And to be honest it is what gives life meaning. And without meaning you are not alive! All these pathetic people today pushing their agendas are dead inside. There is nothing of value there. And the proof is the virtue signaling. Virtue is a VERB, not a noun. No matter what these crazies think! Talk is cheap, actions matter! And their actions are EVIL.

We as martial artist are supposed to hold ourselves to a different standard then the "normies." But today it is every child gets a trophy because they showed up show. That creates WEAK adults like you see in mass numbers today. And these things have happened countless times in history, yet no one learns anything.

You are seeing the fall of the west because of apathy!

Indomitable Spirit. Never Say Never!

I saw recently a comment on a FB post. The comment was about seat belt laws. Seat belt laws are government overreach, period. Do you actually think the governments care about their citizens? History PROVES they do not. SO why is there a law? To force compliance from the masses. Under the idea of safety.

And of course a MONEY GRAB

Get people used to following BS orders and mandates. Mandates mean NOTHING!

Are seat belts a good idea? Certainly and I wear one while in a car. However NOT because it is a law, just a good idea. If I die in a car crash I do not hurt anyone but myself. My refusal does not cause bodily injury to anyone. This is overreach.

And the root reason is to break those with indomitable spirit. Everything is connected.

The masses are waking up finally and realizing they have been HAD. Everything is a LIE, and as the exposures come open your mind, close you mouth and learn! I have never learned anything while I was talking.

Indomitable Spirit in Conclusion

Indomitable Spirit. Never Say Never! in Conclusion

Indomitable spirit is to never give up. That means give in also. Right is right and wrong is wrong.

These are not gray areas like some what to make them. Good is good and evil is evil period. The time of the warriors is here.

And ONLY the warriors, the real ones are ready for the call. Things in the west especially will come to a head very soon. And then it will suddenly end.

But each time you internalize their lies, follow their bullshit you delay the process. Grow a pair and STAND UP. And your NO does not require explanation either! No is NO period. Name calling because they do not like it is as meaningless as the shit you stepped in on the side last week.

I do not care about the good opinions or others. And what they may think of me is not my business. Censorship is communism period. If you do not like what I say you do not need to listen!

As I do not listen to them.

Mistakes while Training in Martial Arts. Turning Failure to Victory.

Mistakes while Training in Martial Arts

Mistakes while Training in Martial Arts. Turning Failure to Victory. People tend to avoid things they do not do well.

Perhaps, most likely it is embarrassment that causes this. What they should do is run towards the things they do not like to practice. Fail faster, that is the key to success!

Mistakes while Training in Martial Arts. Do you keep track? Or just ignore these failures?

The truth is, and this is hard for people, we will make more mistakes and do things right.

We are a culmination of all of our mistakes over our lifetime. That is the person we are. And whether this is good or bad is purely a result of whether we learn or do not learn from these mistakes.

Mistakes while Training in Martial Arts

I know, I focus on learning from my mistakes. I will take a hard look at them to see what lessons are there for me to learn from. the condition of the world today is from people refusing to learn from history. And I mean REAL history not the lies the main stream media pushing. History PROVES them to be liars. And Martial Art History is no different either.

A story of my personal training

When I first began my martial arts training so long ago I was worried about making mistakes. I joined with my first wife and she was so much better then I was. She seemed to do no wrong while I was doing everything wrong. I wished to avoid the aspects I had issue with, and focus on what I was good at.

But my teacher would have none of this. He pushed me harder on the things I sucked at. Soon they became my strong points.

When I first began my Kosho Ryu journey I was well seasoned. And I caught on quickly. I had lost that nervousness of mistakes, One day will training outside of Toronto with Shidoshi Buchan I screwed up BIG TIME after moving to avoid a FULL out punch from my Uke Oscar. I got my arm caught inside while I was outside of the punch.

Mistakes while Training in Martial Arts

I dropped my arms and chuckled. Shidoshi laughed too. Now were doing two step attacks but Oscar stopped and did not destroy me with the second hit. Oscar was a great Uke!

Shidoshi told me he was not laughing at my "mistake" but rather my reaction to it. He said any "mistake is a victory." So we assumed the position we ended in with my arm on the inside, and me on the outside. He told Oscar to attack and I moved back to where I was at first using the Octagon. My trapped arm went crashing into Oscar almost knocking him down.

Conclusion of Mistakes while Training in Martial Arts

Mistakes while Training in Martial Arts in Conclusion

There are no mistakes ever, only learning opportunities. I could easily turn errors into victory with Kosho Ryu.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. How to make it the best!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times: Yes, I am stealing the opening line from a Tale of Two Cities. We are living in a time in history like nothing ever seen before.

And in my view worse than the great depression of 1929. Why do I say this? Because, while the depression was done deliberately the people were not divided like today.

But, with that say that I am good with the division. The division makes the corruption easy to see. There is light on the evil and the followers of evil. It has also shown people and their true colours. You now know WHO your friends are, and who they are NOT.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

The martial arts world has been in trouble for a long time. As the masters of old have passed on much division is seen. In my root art of Kosho is a great example. But no matter how much lying of lineage one side does, the truth is still the truth.

It is very, very important for all students of the martial arts to understand the TRUE history of their art and other. And what happened in the world to create these arts.

The master of old rose out of adversity to become great. But when a society is complacent then decline is seen. And this is the reason for the current world situation. They preach "tolerance" in order to make the people apathetic to the plans  they have for domination.

Nothing is new under the sun, this has happened before! But this time on a much grander, bigger scale.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times

My mother and father often spoke of the depression and the wars. It was US against them.  Today it is the same, except it is hard to know who the "THEM" really are unless you are awake and paying attention.

And this time those training in the martial arts are not a threat for them. Because of apathy, and the desire to make some money, the arts have become impotent. A shadow of what they once were. Now relegated to children and sport.

And another accurate word for "sport" is GAMES. That is not real life! Personally I find NO JOY in games. But when I say this many get upset. However it is the truth non the less. Some of us have worked hard to bring the bite back to the arts. The majority simply wish to pretend and win some championships.

So it the best of times, or the worst of times? If you understand natural laws, and these laws are seen in cycles you will discover It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. At the same time.

Best of times in Conclusion

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times in Conclusion

Many people will read this article and go "what the hell is he talking about?" And that is fine. That is were they are in life.

The vast majority do not want to wake up and smell the coffee. They prefer the sleep they are in.

Until one day they wake and find their world is changed. Hawaii is experiencing this as I write this. And NO this have nothing to do with any climate change lie. Arson is not climate related, it is a criminal activity.  An like Pearl Harbor it was an attack on the American people by their own government.

The TRUTH of Pearl Harbor is they knew 72 hours prior to the attack and told the troupes to stand down.

But the purpose here is in hope of keeping you training, and more important learning more about the martial arts. It is a never ending journey of improvement. Not a trophy or a belt rank.

Thank you for reading It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Let's work to make the future the best of times. Also consider checking out my eBook Kosho Ryu: The Awakened Mind

Do you “KARATE” when nobody is watching?

karate

Do you “KARATE” when nobody is watching? An article by Grand Master Dave DeGrouchie.

Disclaimer: I use the word “Karate” here, as a general reference to Martial Arts in general. Same as me asking if you “TaeKwonDo”, or if you “Kung Fu”, etc. Not really correct, but common practice here in the West. “Karate” is the general stamp-name, people place on most martial arts:

  • John: “Hey Pete, I just joined Krav Maga”
  • Pete: “What the F#$@ is that?”
  • John: “It’s a combat/self defense system”.
  • Pete: “Oh, you mean Karate?”
  • John: “Kinda, yeah.”

People take up Martial Arts for many reasons. In my 4 decades in this activity, I have seen many people come and go, many schools come and go….mine as well. People join for confidence, self defense skill, fitness…or at least that is what most say.

Do you “KARATE” when nobody is watching?

Truth is, many (not all, so if this HONESTLY does not define you, the reader, relax..), join for other reasons. They will say fitness, or confidence, or self defense, but more often than not, they join for other reasons. A few points:

  1. Fitness: Unless you train your techniques, full ass, for 2 hours each day, you really don’t get fitness from martial arts alone. It’s from the push ups, planks, jump jacks, etc, involved in conditioning. That shit is easy to learn from any magazine, or looking in the window of your local fitness bootcamp class. No, you didn’t join Martial Arts for fitness.
  2. Self confidence: To be self confident, we have to have self respect, and be 150% sure of our own worth, when looking in the mirror. This can not be shaken by gossip, and the court of public opinion. This takes a lifetime of putting yourself out there, getting dejected, and learning to honestly disagree with people’s dejection. You have to KNOW, you are the shit. Martial Arts will not give you that, for the whole 6 months to maybe 3 years you plan on training. No, you didn’t join Martial Arts for self confidence.
  3. Self Defense: There is no Black Belt, UFC champion, BJJ God, 400 pound muscle king, that can see every bite, finger twist, hair pull, head butt or eye poke coming. ESPECIALLY in close quarters. And, none of the above, can escape the AGONY these simple antics cause. Try it. “roll” with the best BJJ guy you can find…but in the “scramble”, bite his nipple. Clamp down, and violently shake your head around like a rabid dog. Bet ya kick his ass. No, you didn’t join martial arts for self defense. Truth is, you already know how, just have to open your mind, make it less complicated, and be willing to fight like your life depends on it.

Do you “KARATE” when nobody is watching?

Most people join martial arts, because they want to recreate who they are. They want to roll play, and they want people to know what they do. This is a big reason why “martial artists” have a deep rooted hunger to “expose frauds”. They know they are not authentic in their endeavor, want the artificial self worth, and hate to see anything or anyone who may distract from that.

Do you “KARATE” when nobody is watching?

The only “authentic” martial artists, are those that are like the martial artists of old: They create their own shit based off what they have experienced, and put it out there for people to do, quit, love, or hate. Nobody is given a scroll of authority by God, to have the right to train, teach, or create. I can call myself a 56th Degree Lilly belt, camo stripe, PHD. And nobody can really do anything about it. Same goes for you the reader. Onus is on you to be any good at what you do, but again, that is in the eye of the beholder.

Mind you, stay confident and honest. Don’t make up a lineage that isn’t true. It’s OK to say it’s yours, you made it. And for God’s sake, don’t do what I did: Line yourself up with well known names/experts to increase your knowledge to pass on to your students, list those affiliations on a website, fail to come up with the huge price tag to complete the affiliation process, forget the password to the website to remove the mention of those affiliations you were forming, but did not form. Field day for your detractors….good training for your mental and emotional self defense. Lol 😊

Do you “KARATE” when nobody is watching?

Here's where we separate the martial artists, from the true frauds: Do you Karate when nobody is watching? When there is no school, no more attention, no more flashy uniforms, no more exotic terminology, no more audience, no more rewards….do you still train? For life? Do you do it, for “IT”, or do you do it for them, and/or the attention and recognition.

I started martial arts training when I was 8 years old. 40 years later at 48, I have NEVER, not trained minimum 3 times per week, maximum 5. Even when sick with COVID, I dragged myself into my training space/office in my house, and shadow boxed in 30 second intervals, at slow pace.

Big deal, I am sure others did even more. But my point, is do you really do it as a “lifestyle”. I’ve seen so many roar out to the masses about how their martial arts is “life”. Until that is, they have to resort to training by themselves in a room, with nobody to see them. Want to be an authentic martial artist? Train, create. Only thing that is true or matters, is the training.

What about you? Do you “Karate” when nobody is watching…???

Karate in Conclusion

Thank you for taking time to read "Do you “KARATE” when nobody is watching." I hope you enjoyed the article.

Sincerely

Grand Master Dave DeGrouchie

5 of the Top 100 Safest Cities are in România!

Top 100 Safest Cities

5 of the Top 100 Safest Cities are in România! I saw a very interesting article the other day in a local Romanian publication. It spoke of the fact that of the 100 safest cities in the world 5 of them are in Romania, and 2 in the top 10.

Why am I writing about this? Because despite living in a very safe place self defense teaching and training is always on my mind.

Let's discuss more now!

The 5 of the Top 100 Safest Cities are in România are, in no order of importance.

  • Brașov
  • Bucureşti (Bucharest) (over 2 million people too!)
  • Cluj-Napoca
  • Timisoara
  • Sibiu

5 of the Top 100 Safest Cities are in România!

So why I am talking about this? It is not to brag. This is because of the people, and their values plan and simple. However I am talking about it because inspite of the fact I can walk down the streets of Bucureşti at 2:00 am and the worst thing likely to happen to me is begin stopped to ask if I want to share some vodka (yes this has happened) I am safe.

YET, I have dedicated my life and my teaching to Kosho Ryu and Kyusho Jitsu, the study of natural laws as it pertains to self defense. Why is this?

Because "change favors the prepared mind."

And after growing up in a city with off the scale crime, I understand the difference and am GRATEFUL for my choice. And if you think your style has all the answers you are dead wrong. Because this is a never ending journey. Complacency is DEATH. That is not a prepared mind.

I am always working, study and seeking to improve my skill even as I grow older each day. I am entering the Winter Season of life. But I will not stop training and learning.

Because that is what it is all about!

5 of the Top 100 Safest Cities are in România!

So suggestions?

This will get you going and give you much to train in for a long time to come, but there is ALWAYS more! 5 of the Top 100 Safest Cities are in România, how does your city rate?

in Conclusion - 5 of the Top 100 Safest Cities are in România!
Top 100 Safest Cities in Conclusion

Nothing is more important in these crazy times than your safety and that of your family. And that cannot be abdicated to anyone.

But people have been programmed by corrupted governments, they are all corrupt, and education systems to be tolerance.

That is their key to control, people tolerate and become apathetic to their evil deeds. Martial Artists are supposed to warriors! Warriors are men and women of action, not tolerant apathetic sheep! Or as I call them now the "sleepwalking dead."

I hope you enjoyed the 5 of the Top 100 Safest Cities are in România!

Martial Arts Training is about the mind. Body is 2nd!

Martial Arts Training is about the mind.

Martial Arts Training is about the mind. Student and teacher become lost in only training the body. And also how the body looks.

Martial arts is about everything in life. If you have a rose garden, then you while caring for this garden are training in the martial arts. My first style of martial art was Hapkido. But today that is the style I trained in for the least amount of time. Kosho Ryu is where I have done the most training in my 40 years.

Martial Arts Training is about the mind

And Kosho Ryu is not a style of martial art. It is rather a study. A study of natural laws and all aspects of life. Anything that develops the mind is martial arts. and at advanced training level, or years of dedicated study and training, this develops the connection to spirit.

There is no short cut.

I was asked a great question recently if Kyusho Jitsu was the top end of study. The answer Kyusho Jitsu is about 5% of the study. Yet it is so complex? That is because everything is a study, a learning opportunity.

About the Mind - more examples

Other examples of what I consider to be martial arts training is for one the study of the history of the martial arts. This is something not taught in most Dojo's. And it is not taught properly in the western school system either.

You cannot re-write history. When you do nothing is learned. And this is one reason the world is in the bad shape it is in. Ideologies love to lie about history.

For myself I am learning Romanian. Now I live in the country. But if I just depend on this I will never fluent! Therefore I do formal training on a website called RomanianPod 101. This is a creation of Romanian native speakers.

How is this training? I am developing my MIND, which makes me more alert. Increases memory and expand and opens the mind. How is that not martial arts? Martial arts is about the mind!

Martial Arts Training is about the mind

And the highest purpose of martial art training is to escape harm. Not to beat someone to injury or kill someone. That is ego and has a heavy price attached to it! To escape without being harmed or doing harm. This is the most important aspect yet no one learns this or teaches it.

Martial Arts Training is about the mind in Conclusion

Martial Arts Training is about the mind. in Conclusion

Do you want more from your training? I have spent the last 18 months creating a mass of Kosho Ryu courses and books to help you keep learning. Expanding your root art and training.

Discipline is the Key to Success in all things.

* Discipline is the Key

Discipline is the Key is success in every aspect of life. Yet in the modern times 99% of people lack disciple in their lives in any form.

You can see in their driving, the eating habits and their behavior online.

Discipline is the Key

And without it, you may have limited success, but it will be limited. Then failure will come. And this is followed by absolute failure when you quit.

Martial Artist like people in the military should be the most discipled people. Especially among civilians. But is it true? At one time long ago it certainly was. But I do not see much evidence of this today.

So let's talk about disciple from my life perspective.

Discipline is the Key

I was having a long conversation one day with the daughter of my landlord Georgiana. She had notice that at the time I was up from 2:00 in the morning. We talked about my schedule of the day.

Her comment was "wow, with your disciple you will always be successful." I have a strict routine I follow, right down to what and how much I consume in a day. And I do not allow others to take me from my path. Because Discipline is the Key.

She is also a well discipled woman.

In martial arts training Discipline is the Key. If you are missing classes because you had a hard day, then eventually you will fail. And with the attrition rate in the martial arts you can see how true this is.

Discipline is the Key - Learning

Martial Art is about ever ending learning. And this is not just about a new Kata or Waza. if you believe martial arts are a life path then all things become part of this.

As I have mentioned if you follow me I am in intensive learning of the Romanian language. And to do this requires disciple, serious disciple, dedication and commitment.

I spend all day listening too Romanian music, and about 90 minutes per day in formal training. This does not include discussions with others in the Romanian language.  And this is accomplished by a set routine.

I do the same things day in and day out without exception. There are no days off. And I do not burn out either. How long have I been doing this? a long time. I am not sure how long really.

So how is this "martial art" training, or as I would more directly put this Kosho ryu? I am developing my mind, my focus and memory, plus other things with this training. How can that not be martial arts?

Discipline is the Key - Failure

The only true failure is when you quit. Most people with hit a plateau and decide to stop. Language learning has many such plateaus and Romanian is a very challenging language because many things cannot be translated very well.

Therefore you must learn the concepts of the language, like how a child learns to speak. They have no reference point sometimes. An example the concept of the word "Dog" meaning this animal I am playing with. A child knows the concept, not the word.

Kosho Ryu is full of concepts also. All true failure, which is quitting comes from lack of disciple.

If you look at people, especially in the western culture today you see they do not live discipled lives. And it now shows in relationships, their children and their health. Manifesting in the anger and frustration seen today.

They want no responsibility. People want everything handed to them and if they do not get what they want they suffer and cry victim. And therefore they fail.

Niciodată să nu spui niciodată

Niciodată să nu spui niciodată which means "never say never."  This is one of my favorite saying and means to never give up on something you want in life.

Successful people are willing to do the things other are not will to do.

And this includes perhaps not watching TV on a Friday night and being in class training. The reason i speak of this of course is because I had one Black Belt student who was skipping Friday night classes to watch that comedy "the big bang theory."

Or as I call it the "BIG LIE Theory."

The Comedy network at that time had an ad talking about the "comedy network, time well wasted." No thank you, time is far to important to waste.

Șansa favorizează mintea pregătită

Another of my favorite saying, "șansa favorizează mintea pregătită" which means "chance favors the prepared mind." And this is directly related to the idea that Discipline is the Key.

A discipled mind sees opportunity where an undisciplined mind misses everything.

And as i relate this back to Kosho Ryu I must address that the majority of martial arts taught to day are reactionary in nature. An undisciplined mind reacts to the environment.

A disciplined mind is prepared, and therefore responds, not reacts. Discipline is the Key again. And Kosho Ryu is a "preparatory" martial art first, reactionary second.

Discipline is the Key

I wrote a book recently called Kosho Ryu: The Awakened Mind. And this is my slowest selling book ever. Why? Because it screams put your ego aside, study and disciple yourself.

Those are not things people want to to hear.

Today people conflate many things incorrectly to other things. As an example that disciple means ridged and unhappy. And this is the furthest thing from the truth.

The life I am living and building is exactly the life I want. It is a process!

This is because I understand how the world works beyond the lies of modern times. And that book above is how I have done it.  I possess an awakened mind.

Discipline is the Key in Conclusion

Discipline is the Key in Conclusion

Many things are about to change dramatically in this world.

And those not prepared with fail and struggle in the new world.

Nothing can stop what is coming. And it is NOT what you think it is.

No one person can change the world. But if you change yourself. Take control of your life you makes things better!

How?

Because you stand as an example for other to follow. And then change becomes exponential. That is how you change the world.

I live a discipled life based on values. Some disagree because their values are NOT MINE. And those who are in my life are like minded.

Those not like minded may go in peace.

What you Focus on EXPANDS, EVERY TIME!

* What you Focus on EXPANDS

What you Focus on EXPANDS: If you change your focus you change your life. This is NOT a fuzzy saying BUT FACT. And not "their" facts either. What you Focus on EXPANDS!

One of the greatest benefits of martial art training is the ability to see life clearly. But that is also a choice. In truth what you focus on expands. This is how the brain works. Here is an article I wrote for the WBA blog a while back explains the REAL science of this. Not to be confused with the pay for play lie-ence of the mainstream.

What you Focus on EXPANDS

But, you can choose to focus poorly and undo all the good of training. Because it is more then just street defense. Rather it is a journey of the self, a deep look inside to see who you are, and just how powerful you are. This has nothing, and I mean nothing to do with physical training. Your power is NOT linked to how big your muscles are, or how far and fast you can run. That is the vehicle used to look inside. But that vehicle can you your Kata also. Actually that is best.

When you reach this state you become "hungry" for more. You may have a title like master, but it hold no real meaning to you. It is about what you are still learning, what you still have to learn. How to challenge yourself, and win every time.

What you Focus on EXPANDS

If you are caught in the FAKE world going on today. This very BAD movie, with endless contradictions, then you feel powerless and believe that their is a political solution to problems caused by the same people you think can resolve them. The masses believe otherwise because they are fools. But, that is also changing very fast now. ALL of this is by design. And if you pay attention to REAL history, what they do not want you to see then you find out that an obsession, addiction to politics is always followed by the failure of the culture.

Then a rebuilding process with those who survive. I know of one man who totally disagrees with me, that is fine. But he SUFFERS and I do not. And I deal in the same world. The dots I see show a big change coming. He sees only darkness. Life has a cycle, and nothing can stop the cycle. But "men" believe they can. Again, FOOLS.

What you Focus on EXPANDS in Conclusion

What you Focus on EXPANDS in Conclusion

How do I KNOWBecause I can see clearly and connect the dots. That comes from decades of martial art training. And thus far the things I have said would happen, have happened.

I offer many courses to help you keep learning.

And the investment is SMALL compared to what I had to invest, But whether you learn from me or someone else please keep moving forward. The world is changing and we MUST have excellent focused and strong people to lead, to rebuild and move on. And that is NOT the cowards you see in reality today.

My suggestion is Kosho Ryu, because it is a study of natural laws and motion. The Introduction to Kosho is the best way to begin. Here, below are some of the newer content.

1) Kosho Ryu Revisited Series
2) Pressure Points of Kosho Ryu
3) Hapkido Black Belt Certification Course (So cheap right now I am embarrassed, plus it includes grading!)
